Beautifully written book about a family that I fell in love with. There spiritual life inspired me. I recommend it highly.
Blind Hope is the sequel to Blinders, both excellent books by an accomplished, very good writer who brings her characters to life.
Thank you Kristy for the sequel to Blinders. For me, the mark of a good book is how well the characters affect me, and they did indeed provoke emotions. A wonderfully written historical novel.
Kristy Shelton has provided us with another fascinating story that includes family, faith, farming, history, and more. I became so attached to the wonderful cast of characters, feeling along with them the pain and struggles that each endured. This book connects us in a powerful way to a time in America's history when circumstances and life were not easy, nor could they be taken for granted. I will anxiously await the next wonderful story by this very talented writer.
After finding Blinders so well written and drawing the readers into the lives of the family, I was very anxious to read Blind Hope. It DID NOT fail me. This continuation of the Wyatt family is a MUST read.
I could not put this book down once I starting reading it! Kristy covered so many interesting things in history - events from the area in Kentucky and the events in WWII. It amazed me how Kristy touched on so many things in history while weaving the storyline of the main characters. She covered a long time period, but it was not drawn out, while still enough to really know the characters. Of course, being the mother of 2 boys, the struggle of raising boys touched my heart. This book was such an encouraging book. The family went through many difficult trials, but poured their hearts out to God and kept their faith. Through reading this book, I was encouraged to examine my own prayer life and to find ways to strengthen my faith. I will certainly read this book more than once! Thank you Kristy!
I loved this book! It kept me reading constantly and I fell in love with the characters! They dealt with various problems with faith and even when their faith faltered, they worked through that to get back in right relationship with the Lord. It started with the KKK and went through family crisis and joys through WWII. It's especially encouraging for anyone going through physical or family trials, the scriptures are perfect where they are. I'm telling all my reading friends to be sure to get it! I hope Kristy Shelton writes another!!
